ScaleVisions was building a "kit" for the cars but I am not sure if they ever finished them... They (Don) displayed them @ Carlisle last year - looks good so far :cool

Yes it is Don who has these models for sale. He has two model companies and they are linked together. These models are just the body shells no interior or wheels or glass with them. Still all the hard work is done by mating the two models together.

Looks to me like a good backup Aerobody for somebody who already has one. With the missing part's it isn't very interesting for non Aerobody owners (vs. new)
But who will buy a backup body when you still have a good one?

Monogram Speedster to Aerobody Conversion
OK, here is the best advice I can give on the model issue. I am familiar with the Scale Visions kit, but for the price of 2 Monogram kits, you can build what SV is selling and save a bunch. I know this to be true because I have done several.
First, you need the Speedster kit. It can be had off of EBay from 10-15$ with shipping. You will also need a Monogram C4 85-96 Corvette Coupe kit (5-15$ with shipping). Now, there is variation in the interiors of the older and the new kits, so you need to match the year to what you desire. The Monogram Speedster is identical in fit and base parts as the Coupe.
What you need to do is cut off the B-pillar (main beam between the roof and the rear glass) of the Coupe right at the joint of the pillar and the main body, bond it to the Speedster. Before this can be accomplished, you take the glass and trace the outline of the glass to the back of the speedster and cut out the back deck to fit the glass.
Using the glass as the template, you fixate the glass in the correct location at the cowl and the rear deck and glue the B-pillar in place. Having done this several times, I would advise having a spare glass to do this. They are very sensitive to glue fumes and scratches. I have one for this very purpose. It means having a third kit, but if you build enough of them you get spare parts. Once the pillar is secure, you fill in the gaps with filler and it is a perfect match.
Finally, you will need the interior tub from the coupe, because the Speedster is different. But again, the coupe is a perfect fit.

That's some beautiful work!! Thanks for the ''HOW TO'' I've tried this build by cutting the rear bumper and front side grills out of the Speedster kit and adding them to the standard body.Your way sounds much easier...
