Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Calling all 85-86 Owners..PLEASE!!!!!

Does anybody have a pic of the EGR solenoid (the electric part), so I can see which side gets vacuum, and which side sends vacuum to the EGR valve?

That would be GREAT!!!!!!!!

I think I got it figured out, as I have not had any EGR trouble codes in the last 100 miles. I would just like to confirm.

Here are some pics of the engine in.

Nothing is detailed yet ,and all the wires are helter skelter until I can wrap up the loose ends.

If you notice in this pic, you can see the difference between the replacement stock runners I got from Bossvette, and the welded together homeade siemese runners that the prior owner had built.

I don't trust the weld work and fear some degree of a small vacuum leak could be present.

I will have the stock runners on it soon---pending a complete intake swap soon after that. That all depends on my money and time..(super ram, stealth ram, miniram...or the LT1 intake conversion I already have in the works)

The vacuum line closest to the firewall on the EGR curves around and goes to the valve. The line closest to the throttle body goes up to the IAC. I can snap a pic if you want, but it's kinda hard to see at close range (camera doesn't focus well).

That's a clean lookin' job Chris:cool Hey I got almost all those intakes either here or on the way (except stealth) damned if I know WTH I'm gonna do with em all. :grinshot

Do you have something in the works? What kinda headers are you running there? At least you got yours running, mine's still scattered across the country, but this
salepic.jpg

showed up in the mail yesterday, nicely powdercoated, and either this LT1 conversion or the MR on the above photo's gonna have to go sooner or later if that SR ever graces my doorstep.

I should :SLAP myself. What started out as a decent concept with good intentions has somehow gone terribly wrong;LOL :hb ;LOL

RICHR,

A pic would be great. I will try to figure out what I am looking at.

My solenoid is basically laying on the passenger rear valve cover in no particular order.

Moonunit...

That is a nice looking LT1 conversion. Where did that come from? Ebay??? etc?

So, now you have a miniram engine, a LT1 intake, and a stealth on the way???????

Alright...I will bite. Let me know what you are asking for the intakes you are not using.

Just email here:

Thanks guys!!!!!!!

Ok, Chris... it's in the same directory as the others, called "egr.jpg". It's the best I could do at 6:30 am :).

I think that is going to help.

I can just make out the inlet, outlet vacuum line to the unit. I will make sure mine is going that way.

Glad to be of service... these pix are letting me work off the help-debt I've earned from you all experts over the last two years :).

Chris I thought you had a 85 there. Whats with the centerbolt heads? Are they off an 86+?

rrubel

Earlier in this post you mentioned new wire loom plastic pieces, do these fit on the original metal bracket.

What is TPIS, do they have a website.

Ah, you noticed.

This is one of the reasons I call the car FrankenVette, and I am quickly becoming Dr. Frankie....

Those heads are from a truck in the early 90s. They have been ported, polished, and have 2.02/1.6 valves punched in with pinned studs.

Mart, yes, they snap onto the original metal brackets. I think you can get them from Mid America and Ecklers as well, in a variety of colors.
