I am considering putting a 383 with forged internals in my car using my current LT1 block and I was wondering if I could still use my LT4 hotcam and LT4 heads with it?

NO YOU CAN'T! spend another 1500 bucks ;LOL

just kidding Bryan :D

yes you can. everything will bolt right up. however for maximum power you might want to get the heads punched out with bigger valves, ported on the intake side and ported and polished on the exhaust side. while your at it get the intake extrude honed or ported and matched also. the cam might be alittle too small for more cubic inches. ask around and see who is running the "Hot Cam" with a 383 stroker setup and see what kind of numbers they are putting down. most will probably tell you they wish they went with a bigger cam especially after the stroked motor.

Well does anyone have any suggestions on a cam. I have to maintain emissions and somewhat civil street manner.

with more cubes it's like throwing a smaller cam in your 350 now. if they sniff the car (which i don't think they do with OBD II) then check an old emissions paper and see how much you passed if you had it done with the setup now. if they just plug the scanner and scan for codes use LT1 edit if any codes get thrown and have them deleted. LS1 guys do this all the time with monster cam setups and pass with no problems but then again they don't actually "sniff" the car. if they do and you have an old emissions paper see how much it passed. if it passed by a large margin you know you have more room for a bigger cam :D

it would be wise to get LT1 edit done anyway with some dyno time to pull maximum HP out of the setup anyway. this is always good for atleast 20 rwhp with a competent tuner.

if you need LT1 edit done and feel like coming up one weekend let me know :D

Thanks Mic. I am just looking for ideas right now. If I do go through with this it wont be until summer.
