Just a comment on mileage on an engine. Back in the 60s we drove the chevy small blocks to about 100,000 miles, then traded them in on a lower mileage or new car. The dealer in turn took the nice looking car, this car don't look like 100 k miles we will just put 56,000 miles on the odometer and sell it as such. The next unsupecting costumer comes in trades his 98,000 mile car for the 56k car and proceeds to drive it to 100,000 miles.

This customer in turn trades it in at 99,000 miles again and the dealer again says,, humm looks more like 75,000 miles the seats are showing some wear at this point, and around it goes again. Only diff. the car uses some oil, so it might get a ring and bearing job to go another few k. So now the engine has a reputation on the street of needing an overhaul at 75,000 miles.

Now consider the engines at that time ran about 3000 rpm at about 60 mph. The engines today run at about 1500 rpm at 60 mph. Almost half the rotations of the engines in the 60s. The last decade of engines has been built with far better material and much closer tolerances .Now don't you think that todays engines should go at least 200,000 miles without major internal repairs ? I have had more problems with chasies wearing out than the drive train.
Paul , I make sure your included in a prayer at least daily.
