My guess is that if you use anything on it they would say that it negates the warranty.

I am glad to hear that you are satisfied with the results. I do not think that those systems are good for the paint. Even PPG has said that such extreme protection for the paint is not necessary.

an update from the airamar/pemafinish guy

I called the PermaFinish guy today to ask if it is OK to use wax or zaino. He heartily assured me that it would be fine and look great, and many of their clients who show cars do just that. He said that I would need to start by a good wash and towel dry, then for the very best results, to proceed with the claybar and continue on through the steps outlined by meguiars or zaino.

Maybe I'll give it a shot after the holidays if we get some nice weather.

I would be very interested to hear what he says. THe way it was explained to me, it is not a layer on top but a molecular-level chemical treatment. Maybe its just a case of the Emperor's New Clothes!

I was considering trying out a complete system like the one you have mentioned in some of the other threads. Does Zymol have similar products such as the clay bars and cleaning and waxing systems?

Detailing Dude....What do you think of Zymol products?
Well, that is a loaded question. In my opinion they don't warrant the price. They do make some excellent products but the price is not an indication of the value. That's all I really care to say. I don't want to get this forum hung up on whose product is best because there are many excellent products out there. How a product performs is very much dependant on the daily environment the car is subject to. What I hope people are learning on here is that the key two keys to success:

Key #1: Surface preparation

Key #2: Prevention


I have used the Zymol Cleaner\Wax. It does a decent job on my Audi A4.
It's shine been rated highly by Consumer Reports. It is a quick fix but has limited durability.

I was considering trying out a complete system like the one you have mentioned in some of the other threads.

Yes, their clay bar is $80.80. Mother's is $13.87 at WalMart there seems to be no difference between the two.

Thanks for the info!!!!! I always thought there stuff was pricey. Looks like i am going to start trying some other products. These other products are easier to find as well. I see almost all of them in the stores. Zymol is difficult to find sometimes. Thanks again!!!

This is why I didn't want to even list those because there are close to 50 wax companies out there. I knew I'd leave one out. By leaving them off the list is not to say that I don't think it is a good wax. They wouldn't be in business if it was a bad wax.

If you like it and are finding it easy to work with and are getting the desired shine then stick with it. Make sure you do surface prep properly.

I will add that the president of the company says that clay bars on your clear coat will strip off the clear coat and he's completely wrong on that.
