carb float adjustment?

I have a demon carb to install, and it has been so long, that I can't remember which way you turn the adjustment to raise the float. It must be too low, as it doesnt seem to have enough fuel in the bowl. I have also considered that it may be stuck. I would have used a Q-jet, but the car didnt come with a carb, and I had the new Demon. Thanks for any help!

Clockwise down, counterclockwise up.

If you have the sightglass, you will see the level change as you turn the screw.
