CD Player

Dumb question from a newbie.

Just got a 94 coupe that is pristine. Love to have my CD's but don't want to mess with originality.

Is there an aftermarket CD player that I can use. Only other option is an iPod with attachment that will play through FM radio.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using my iPod with a cassette adaptor. I found I can hide the cord (for the most part) by running it straight down to the cup holder and shutting the door on it. I wasn't able to find an FM adapter that actually worked consistently.

I don't know about any aftermarket stereos, but I've seen other vettes with them, so it is possible. I'm sure somebody else here has some experience with it.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll try the iPod first, since I already have one, and then a changer if that doesn't work to well.

I installed a Clarion 6 disk CD changer with the RF modulator vertically behind the passenger seat. It's thin enough so that all it will cost you is perhaps an inch of passenger seat travel. The actual radio receiver and antenna cable are located in the storage compartment behind the passenger seat (94-96 models) so the wiring is a snap. It took me about three hours to figure it out and actually install it but if I had to do it again, it would probably be about an hour. I got the CD changer used off eBay for about $60 and I've been very happy with it. I know a lot of folks complain about the fidelity of these types of units but I think it sounds fine. If the iPod thing doesn't work out, let me know and I can provide you with more detailed info...

Thanks you. Haven't had a chance to test iPod yet. The vette is safe and dry in the garage, and the 6" of snow will make sure it stays there for awhile. I'll fire you a message to get more details.
