center force clutch

hi all, am re-doing the clutch on my stock 4 spd and am considering the center force system. any one have experience with this unit?
thanks
mike

I'm running a Centerforce II behind my 417 ci hot rod. It seems to be holding up alright, when the car's runnin'. :L

Seriously though, I don't expect any problems with it when I start hammering it on the strip, which will be soon hopefully. ;)

I use the centerforce 11 also, It Clamps real smooth and never slips.
The diskare excellent and come in 10spline for old vette muncies and Borg Warner, newer trannys have 26spline shafts.
I have the CF matched steel flywheel also.
the design of the CF has centrifical weights that clamp tight as rpm's increase, Ive always noticed a little noise with that kind of design , but Im totally use to it and pay no attention to that.
My HP and torque are under 400 otherwise I may have gone up to the dual friction.
Ive had bad results from regular HD clutches in the past so I consider the CF Tops for my app.
Hope this helps..
Tom

i went to their website and they recommend getting their flywheel with the new clutch. I understand the principal behind the new/resurfaced flywheel (i think , to get the mating surfaces to match up) but two things come to mind: which weight flywheel to use? lighter or heavier? and the break in period, i dont drive the vette too much (once or twice a week to work and on weekends) it will take meforever to break it in, im afraid ill forget one day and stomp on the gas....and there goes the $$$$!
does the break in have to be city miles?
thanks mike

ha..yeah I would lose track of where I was at with the breakin at those miles..
I guess I'd consider it broke in after 20-30 shifts in all the gears, something like that, you should feel the setup has seated properly.
Good luck..
Tom

Only 500 miles on mine, but Grabs great!
The only bad thing, a much lighter pedal so the wife is able to drive it more often.

I have a centerforce dual disk behind my 383 tpi mated to a tremec tko 5-speed with about 15,000+ miles and no problems.
I had my 500 miles in less then a week I wanted to feel those ponies asap. ;LOL
