I don't plan on driving in the snow, but I fInd find myself on the away from home side of a "chains required" zone, what is the best bet for chains of cable chains on a C4.

It would be the occasional mountain area where chains are required. Usually conditions aren't too bad.

And no, buying a beater car out of state to drive home isn't an option :)

As with any car when using chains you stand the chance of the chainset breaking and damaging the bodywork. In the case of the Corvette, fiberglass damages much easier than metal; you decide whether to use chains or not. Personally, I have always hated using chains and avoided it whenever possible.

Think about other tire possibilities, check out one of our affiliates, The Tire Rack, to see what they have to offer.
