I want a deeper sound without the inside noise.
Is this the way to go?

I've got a similar dilema... I have Hooker Side Pipes. Tomorrow I am removing the glass packs inside them to see just how loud it will be with open pipes. I am willing to bet you it's too loud (for most people, but not me). Your best bet is to go with a chambered system.

What's chambered pipe??? Now don't tell me these are pipes with chambers...:mad

chambered pipes are pipes with cham.... just kidding.

I don't know what they are either. any help out there?

Is that the same system that was used on some of the 1968 comaros ?:w

I have an '85 with "ZR-1" mufflers which may be referred to as "chambered" but they look straight through to me. They are fairly loud but they are loud inside too. I, like you, don't mind the noise insdie. (I don't view it as "noise") They do not drown out the radio or anything like that, unless you nail it. :) Personally I love them! My '55 Chervy has headers and glass paks on it and it does sound better but it is a different sound. The Vette scares off the bee hives! :) They get real quite when they are around me..................

Do you mean the Z-28?

yep that's what I ment, might have been on the 67 Z too.

Speaking of bee hives.. knocked off a few of them with my 98 Riv supercharged 3800 ;LOL What a surprise they had, Granpas big cruiser , blowing them off.
