change oil light on 90 255 hp

i have less than 1000 miles on a new oil change and today my change oil light has come on. it came on after i had warmed the car on a 95 degree day and gunned it from 0 to 65 mph.
any one have an idea? the book says to change the oil. i cant believe it needs it yet.

You have to reset the light after your oil change. Don't worry about it as it's not due. If you don't have an owners manual you can reset it by turning ignition "on" donot start...Press eng/met, release, within 5 secs press eng/met again & release. Within 5 secs press "range" & hold until change oil light begins blinking, when the light stops blinking you are reset.
I'm doing this from memory so if it doesn't work I'm sure someone else will give the right info.

The ccm computes miles, oil temp,& a few other parameters before it activates the change oil light.
