Check engine light

I have a problem:

When the engine idles, at a stop sign or at a red light, or when I'm looking for a parking place, the Check engine light appears...

Has anyone had this problem before? What are the solutions?

Hi,

I wonder do you still have your Computer installed on your 81? Running a 427 I would think it was disconnected or removed :confused

If it is still hooked up you might try to disconnect the battery for about 15 to 30 seconds. Reconnect and see if that takes care of the problem. If not, you can run jumper out the plug under the ashtray and see what codes it gives you.
