I know there has been a lot said about using only 100% cotton towels made in the USA. This question has probably already been asked but I can't find it in recent posts. Has anyone used cheese cloth towels or the new "microfiber" towels available. I looked at the microfiber towel tags and they state they are mostly made from polyester and some other blend with no cotton at all! They do fel soft though! What about cheese cloth? Is it safe to use? I can't find out what cheesecloth is made out of.

No, never used cheese cloth. But I have used micrifiber and will advise you to be particularly careful as to which ones you choose for which purpose. The towels that you see in Wal-Mart and such stores are okay for glass, rims, leather. etc. but I would not recommend that you use them on your paint. They are considered a mid-grade towel.

If you are looking for a high-grade towel (one that is worthy of use on your paint) then try the towels from www.PakShak.com Theses are the towels that I use on my car, and they are great.

Yes, these towels are made from either an 80/20 or 70/30 blend of polyester/polyamide, but a high quality towel will NOT scratch your paint.

Are you folks using the Microfiber towels to dry the car or to remove wax - or both? What is the suggested usage of the microfiber towels?

Thanks in advance for the info.

I dont have a vette, but I use them on my Black Audi A4. I use them mostly for washing the windows and on the dash. I use them on the paint when I am done washing and waxing. They are great for picking up some of the dust left behind by waxing or those little white fibers from terry cloth towels.

Thanks to RubyDropTop's recommendation, I've ordered the PakShak microfiber towels and love them!
