Chevrolet Unveils 2020 Corvette Stingray Convertible and C8.R Race Car

Last night, Chevrolet took the wraps off the 2020 Corvette Stingray convertible and C8.R race car at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Weighing in at only 77 lb. more than the coupe, Tadge Juechter, the Executive Chief Engineer for Corvette called it a "no-lose proposition" for Corvette enthusiasts, while Program Engineering Manager, Josh Holder said that with the touch of button, the roof can be brought down in 16 seconds with the vehicle moving up to 30 mph.

I believe the color of the new convertible is Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic...which is NOT a color of the 2020 corvette on the configurator (so far). Does anyone have insight if the colors might be different for the convertible? I have a 2006 DSOM convertible and I am on the list for a 2020. I would absolutely wait for this color and vert combination if that is going to happen.

It's the lighting/exposure of the photos. The car is painted Sebring Orange Metallic which is an available color on both the 2020 Corvette coupe and convertible. DSOM is not coming back for the 2020 model year.

I have seen the seabring orange...and have actually built out that on the configurator. Having a DSOM car, it is EXACTLY the color in the new images. I cannot believe that the outdoor images of it on Hwy 1 in CA are seabring orange and its because of lighting....hmmmmm.

Hopefully that hardtop is one strong unit with matching exterior covering, it is going to get very hot, even with the vents.
