Just on Ecklers website, have any LT1 owners tried part # 28644. Wondering if the $220.00 is worth spending????

  • Produces Instant Power
  • Improves Throttle Response
  • Easy 15 Minute Installation

Would you like to reduce your 0-60 elapsed times by almost a ½ second, add up to 20 horsepower to your engine without a single modification or have your Corvette be 2.6 car lengths faster? You can realize these improvements by installing the Hypertech Power Chip. At wide open throttle, the Power Chip selects an optimum spark advance and air/fuel ratio, thereby by allowing the engine to perform way beyond the limitations imposed by the stock chip. And because the Power Chip only affects the wide open throttle operation, fuel economy is unaffected. The Hypertech Thermo Master will yield the results mentioned above and has been further modified to allow the use of a cooler thermostat (160 degrees). A cooler engine, of course, will make more power than a hot engine.

Generally, all those mass burned chips do is turn your cooling fans on earlier. Without a custom burned chip to go along with your already internally modified engine, a chip isn't worth $220.

There is no way it could shave off .5 seconds in the 0-60 nor can it give you 20 horsepower.

True, the stock chip was burned by GM so the vehicle would run hot and therefore be easier on emissions. Don't get me wrong, there is power to be gained with chips but not what they advertise and definitely not for their asking price.

I agree, don't bother untill you have added a few things, like cam, headers ect.:w

And even then, get a custom burned one specific to the mods. Factors like cam specs, exhaust size will factor in your air/fuel ratio.
