Anyone know if the choke on a stock 81 is electric or manual? I'm rebuilding and am planning on putting an Edelbrock 750 CFM but not sure if I should manual or electric.

Thanks.

Well, if you are swapping carbs- it doesn't matter if it has a hot air (automatic) or electric (automatic) choke. Personally, I'd skip the manual choke. Especially if you would like to keep the interior stock- you'd need a place to put the handle.

I haven't put a carb on a car since 1993. I went with TPI and never looked back. I'd be sure though if you DID decide to go with a manual choke, that you got the cable and handle.

I do believe that 80s and 81s had electric chokes. I believe you can re-use choke's positive lead (harness).
