hello, did 74's come with electric or the mechanical heat spring choke? i have found a pair of wires on the passenger side tucked under the a/c box. when i unrolled them i found two clips for attaching to the valve cover and the length is about where the choke is.they are black and tan in a flat connector.
pictures later this weekend.

what's a TCS solenoid? i've seen the name but have no clue on its use.

If they're tan and dark blue, those (were) connected to the TCS solenoid - most folks disconnected them when they found out what they did (TCS - Transmission-Controlled Spark - killed the vacuum signal to the distributor vacuum advance diaphragm except when you were in high gear, unless the engine was cold or overheating).

John ,thanks for the explaination. i'll look at the wires closely, then tuck them away again.
