When slowly letting out the clutch in 1st (or 2nd or 3rd) gear, there is a metallic (clanging / rattle) sound (like the shift linkage banging against the torque tube or exhaust). It goes away once rolling - it only seems to occur when the clutch is halfway engaged. This is a new noise - and quite annoying.
The noise started two weeks ago in cold weather (22F / -6C)
I recently had my rear end and transmission fluids changed.
I aligned the shifter.
I tried reproducing the noise when coasting down hill, engine off, in different gears (clutch in and also clutch out). The noise occurs only at low RPMs, letting out the clutch (clutch engaging slowly).
any suggestions? could I have dropped some sort of linkage bushing when I aligned the shifter?
