CLEANING THE ALUMINUM PLENUM ON C4?

I was asking about the "Etching Mag Wheel cleaner" on my valve covers.

I tried the simple green with a stiff bristle brass brush and a little elbow grease and it came out great. It really look's good. I thought that the brake clean would work but it didn't .Thanks to everyone that replied. TLS630

Hi Tom!
Now that that's handled, bring it by the shop, so I can put it in the gallery along with your '69!

NOTE - This '88 has to be the nicest C4 I've seen since they rolled off the transporter.:D

Will not work on the Valve covers they are painted and they are not aluminum they are Magnesium, simple green on the VC's

Correct it wont work on the valve covers. It works well on the intake,a arms, rear suspension parts and the ac accumulator.Sometimes works well on alternator

Thanks. Mine aren't painted, but I assume they're made of Magnesium.
I'll try the simple green in the spring. Last year I used 0000 steel wool, and although it did help, they still don't look as good as I'd like.
