Clear Top Gasket Question

[1995 RedVette]

The rubber strip that slips in between the clear top and the frame is starting to pull free in my 95 coupe. Is there any way to reinstall this strip? I have tried to press it back into the slot with a thin screw driver, however, when it sat in the sun for couple of days, it worked its way back out. Do I need to use some type of adhesive, or is there a replacement for the gasket?

I have a 90...

Hi Brett, I have a 90 so I don't know if there are changes between 90 & 95. My helm manual says that there is/was adhesive on the following parts:

"1. apply adhesive to guide & install guide to roof frame.
2. apply adhesive to retainer & install retainer using roof panel side weatherstrip retainer mounting screws.
3. apply adhesive to weatherstrip and install weatherstrip.
4. roof panel side weatherstrip screw."

I'm a rookie with C4's, I just got mine, so I don't have any insight from hands on, sorry. This is whatthe book said so I guess everything gets adhesive?

Thanks for the info, I was thinking that it probably needed some type of adheasive. Does the book give any indication of what type or maybe GM partnumber adheasive to use?

Hold on I'm looking, you think it would be in the sec. I just quoted but it's not!

After looking I can't find a part # for the adhesive, sorry. Tom

There is a 2 part epoxy that comes in clear and black for weather stripping. I think that you can get it from 3M in the states. Whoever imports the stuff to Spain goes under the name of SimProl.
