Closing the clam

Yep. I'm a clam slammer too. About a foot does it. I can't see it doing any harm from that height. Plus, I don't get palm prints all over the (black) paint.

Im with KEN on this one.Mine closes every time from 6-8" If properly ajusted they all should!!!!!!!! Ajustment is VERY IMPORTANT,As we drive over ROUGH roads, sometimes with pot holes, things move around a little!!!!

about 6 inches up and let it go. if it doesnt latch (with liberaly lubricated components)try a few inches more up.i use the minumum height to close it.
