Had an alignment done after rebuilding the front suspension. Had to replace the trailing arm bolts, washers, and shims along with the strut rod cam bolts. Now at low speed I get and occassional clunk-clunk sound from the rear of the car. I don't hear it at speeds above 25mph. Any ideas? Everything seems tight.:confused :confused

A quick check of the diferential mounting bracket to frame
bolt may be a good idea? Mine loosened up a few months ago and made a great clunk when letting off and getting on the gas.
I added a 2nd nut hoping to prevent it from happening again.
Hope your luck is as good as mine! I pictured the worst!
And it turned out to be a 5 minute fix.

The sound may or may not be related to the work you did. For example:

- loose differential nose to frame bracket bolts or worn/deteriorated bushings there.

- universal joint going bad (rear of driveshaft or one of the swing axles)

- posi differential needs posi additive

- incorrect bolt diameter used for trailing arm attachment to the frame.

- too much play/wear in a differential side yoke.

- a stone trapped in a rear hubcap or brake assembly.

OK guys here it is. Some of the simplest things get overlooked because you always look for the most complex. After rebuilding the rear a muffler clamp was misaligned and the muffler would hit against the spar tire holder. I appreciate the help and am sorry I'm such a dufuss.
