I just had a new clutch installed in my '86 and I noticed now that the clutch doesn't disengage until the pedal is depressed about 3/4 of the way down. Sometimes it feels hard to get into gear unless the pedal is pressed to the floor board. This doesn't seem right. I had more pedal with the old clutch. I was wondering with the hydrolic clutch, is there an adjustment for this to get more pedal? Speed shifting is a bummer. The mechanic told me there was air in the lines before and he bled the system, but I liked it better before with the air in it:eyerole . I'd like some expert opinions before I take it back and get some song and dance.

I appreciate any info anybody can offer.

The is no adjustment. The system needs to be properly bled to restore your 'pedal'. That includes unbolting the slave and holding it at a 45 while bleeding it. More is listed on a searchable thread, but bleeding it with the slave in place results in symptoms you describe.

Thanks for the help. I knew something wasn't right, just didn't know what. My mechanic seemed a bit speachless when I told him what needed to be done.
