I'm trying to replace the clutch boot on the firewall of my '67 and it looks like the boot is attached with 3 rivets. Doe's anyone have any ideas on how to get them out (drilling isn't an option because of access unless I pull of the brake booster)? If so, can you use screws to reattach?

Mine was already attached to the firewall with two screws. (Edit...correct number of screws is two not threee, checked for it)

Is it an option to use a Dremel to get the rivets out ?

Thanks, I have on and might try, although the rivets they used in production don't look like "pop-rivets" and needed to be drilled all they way through. It may be more hassle then it is worth.

On the 67 clutch rod boot, it is held in place by 3 screws, not rivets. The boot has a metal reinforcing ring molded in too.

Try a Home Depot or Lowes for a small offset ratcheting screw driver.

With out breaking the fiberglass can you clip them off from the inside or use the dremmel inside.

My son is into building gas powered 4x4 remote control trucks and I purchased him a small cordless rechargable dremmel to help him with the body building and have used this tools many times because its so small and has thousands of bits available.

I have a 66 and my boot is screwed on

Just replaced mine last week. It was held on by three small philips head screws. I had to clean off what looked like either undercoating or black paint/grease to expose the screw heads before removing.

Yep, screws. 1963-early 1965 - two screws. Late-65 to 67 - three.
