Clutch master and slave problem

I have just fitted a new gm master and slave clutch cylinder and after filling and
bleeding have found the fluid to go black. The fluid is a standard Dot 3 brake fluid. Is this a sign of the fluid attacking the rubber or is a black grease used on assemly.Do I have any recourse with the supplier.

From my experience, I would go to a GM dealer and purchase the hydraulic clutch fluid that they have. It works better than anything on the market. The ZF doc recommends the GM fluid to all of his customers.

If you use that fluid, I guarantee you that your clutch will work slicker than ****! :upthumbs

The GM part number is 12345347.

Contact ZF Doc at the above link. You also need to replace the line from the clutch master cylinder to the slave. The inside's of that hose deteriorate's over time.

Dot 3 brake fluid is too harsh for the seals. You need to use the G.M hyd. fluid intended for the clutch.
