Hi,

I have a little problem with my Corvette.
Fist I had EMC code 22, 33, 34 and 36. OK run, still running great
So now, I have one more code and my engine going wrong, (code 32)
When the engine is cold, I can run for around 15 minutes OK. After that, the engine can’t keep the RPM. I run at 60KM at 16 RPM and the RPM drop to 8 RMP, and make some backfire. If I put gas pedal at floor, now problem, the RPM going up. The engine runs and for some reasons the RPM drop sometime at 4 and 3 RPM, the engine can’t keep the RPM constant?:confused

I checked, vacuum line (OK)
I change my ERG valve for nothing, (the old one is good)
I check ERG Temp. switch, it look OK( I check the wire between the switch and EMC with my ohmmeter (OK)
I check the wire between the solenoid and the EMC with my ohmmeter OK
Do you some idea!

Marc

I fix the problem

Hi every one, I fix the problem with my Vette, It was the TPS the problems! I don’t why, but it was at 0 volts, I fix at 0,54 volts and I solve the problem!!!!!:):):)

Well done Marc, Unusual for no one on here to have come up with some ideas though.....Roger....:beer

What is the voltage with the throttle wide open?

The TPS is probably the cause of more ECM being replaced prematurely than other part on the car. I was getting ready to tell you to check it out and you already had it fixed.
Job well done finding it and fixing your car.:beer

If the voltage was at zero and you reset it that makes me think you may have a broken wire in the wireing to the TPS. In my case it was the black and blue wire that were broken inside the plug and when I moved them it would work for a while and then go bad. So if your problem comes back this will give you something to check for.

Hi,

The most important code is the 22. That is for the TPS Circuit low which is what you found with the voltage being zero.

The rest of those codes are all controlled by what is causing the TPS circuit to be low. The common thread for all of them is that they are all connected. The black wire from all those sensors come together in a cluster connection in side the wireing harness. You should clean all the body grounds on the car the most important one is the one from the ECM it is a flat woven cabel that is grounded to the bell housing along with two other ground wires.

Definitely a job well done, but I would still like to know the cause of the failure. There was a reason the TPS was out of tolerance. Is there an issue with the sensor, or was the unit not tight and allowed to move around. Also, it is important that the top end of the TPS voltage be 4.0 volts or higher. I might eat my words, but right now this is what I recall.
