CODE 54 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

My son's 1987 coupe with Automatic Transmission developed a long start and SES Light tonite. I pulled the codes and got a Code 54 (5 volt refeence ground). Does this measn I have bad ground some where on the car or a bad computer. I just finshed cleaning all the grounds I could see under the hood this past weekend, but it looks like I;m going to have to get under the car and behing the dash maybe. What do other thinkEd

I guess I misread my code manual it turned out to be a bad Fuel Pump relay code. I was reading the Saturn Transmission code section of my manual.
