hi need some help -about three weeks ago i flushed my cooling system on my '93 lt1-changed therm.and added coolant 50/50 as manual states.followed it exactlly.got water/coolant in the omni-spark and the car ran like garbage until it dried out.now runs fine but the code keeps flashing can anyone help me with this?:w;help

Not to sure if this would work or not but if the car now seems to run fine, maybe disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then reconnect it. This sometimes works because it resets everything.

You're Lucky...

Those Opti-Sparks really hate water. :crazy I just had my original Opti and water pump replaced last week. With only 25,000 miles on the car the water pump was shot and the Opti was acting up here and there. Keep an eye on the Opti and any Servive Engine Soon lights because even though you can sometimes get them to dry out, rust forms on the plate inside and it's all down hill from there.

As far as the SYS light goes, I have known that to come on from a low battery believe it or not; I've heard that many times before. How is your battery? You may want to check that out.

Good luck with that Opti, those things can be a nightmare.:cry

thanks to the last two responses-the battery did need a jump right after i left the hood up too long.our club had a show and i didn't notice the lights were still burning until it started to get dark-too late-and this was two days after i did the work.probably didn't really take notice of the code till after the jump-so that all makes sense now! corvette engineers should have to turn wrenches on our cars after that they would probably re-think design ideas.-putting the omni-spark under the water pump was probably the worst one yet-funny they didn't try to install it in the radiator :duh anyway thanks again keep wavin':w dennis

Dennis -

There is an in-line fuse that you can very easily remove that will shut those underhood lights off if you want to. I have my fuse pulled out because I like to attend car shows as well, but with the hood up all day, those lights will drain your battery for sure.

hi ruby-found the fuse -it is easier to pull the fuse than to go side to side to disconnect the lights thanks again dennis :w
