Coke Zero 400 - Rowdy gets owned by Tony

I loved it! I don't blame Tony at all. Shrubs spotter was hopefully yelling "outside" when Tony made his move....
Busch is good, I'll give him that but I've grown tired of his little antics during interviews, just like I grew tired of hearing the same crap out of his brothers mouth. Maybe Kyle will get a clue like his brother did.
The only thing that could have made that better was the little punk getting out of the car and running across the track like Ricky Bobby and yelling "help me Oprah Winfrey".

Am glad all involved were OK...wonder if we'll see "blocking" rule changes?

That's the first time in years that I've jumped off the sofa screaming in joy at a stock car race on TV. Rowdy did that to himself! I love it when my least favorite drivers gets taken out by one of my favorites!:thumb

I was bouncing around the living room screaming so much that one of my dogs took off out the back door and the other two were watching me trying to figure out if they should run too!

With a lap and a half to go I was thinking kyle would end up putting Tony in the wall so he could win, I was surprised when Tony didn't try to block him at all in what I thought was going to be the final pass for the win as kyle went by.

Tony was way nicer than he needed to be during post race interviews, as far up on kyle as he was, if he'd tried to brake, they'd have both ended up in the wall and JJ would have won.

I'm not sure that race could have had a more perfect ending for me.:beer

If the roles were reversed, I'd be disappointed, but I'd still be sitting here saying Tony wrecked himself trying to block someone that had too big of a run and was too far up on him.

I'd be curious to hear kyles spotter, if he was telling him Tony was going high, or telling him outside.

I'm not sure kyle ate the wall quite hard enough to be honest, he absolutely won't lift at all to give anyone else an inch and has wrecked a ton of other drivers because of it...usually with him driving through it and only getting a few scratches on the car. I think he walked away to easy, he needs his bell rang just a little harder so that he'll start getting the picture of what he does to other drivers and then maybe he'll start racing with a little more respect for the people around him, because right now I think he has none at all.

My boss just told me that if Jr doesn't get his act together before the season is over, the driver of next years 88 car will win the most popular driver award and that their initials will be D.P. :boogie

Joe Menzer wonders if anything will be learned in all the aftermath of the Coke Zero 400.

I've known Meat-Head is a punk for years..... nothing-else to learn from the conclusion of Saturday evening's race

He's a smart man.:D

Oh there will be a payback only I don't think Rowdy can ever win that war!

I don't know if Tony still has that monkey but I'd put money on the monkey! Slip that little joker in Buschs car right before the command and put the window net up!

We have a family friend who is a crew chief in the Nationwide series. When he was coming up the ranks he was an engineer on Kyle's Nationwide car. He said that Kyle is probably the best driver he's ever seen. He could be going flat out at Talledega and on the radio be talking about where there were going out to dinner after the race.

That being said I would agree that he is a punk. Even my wife who is not a fan and rarely curses called Kyle an a__hole!

As to Rascal's comment, look for something to happen with JR Motorsports after the season. I have it on good authority that Rick Hendrick is not pleased on how his partnership with Junior is working out.

YEP - It will be an interesting off season for a lot of drivers/teams...

if Hendrick puts Dania into the 88-car, as some believe will happen, she and Meat-Head can have purse-swinging contests after crashes.

:chuckle

if JR goes anywhere other-than HMS, instead of trying to build JRM into a Cup-caliber team himself (probably w/ HMS-assistance), why-not 'buy' his way into the Stewart/Hass team as their 3rd car (& HMS' 7th team-car)?

he & Stewart have been friends & de-facto 'team-mates' / drafting-partners for years at restrictor-plate tracks, he'd be moving to a somewhat 'established' team to fall-back on, still have Hendrick brains behind him, and he could build JRM as time & finances allow.

I don't think I'd call him best ever, quite sure I wouldn't...and as much as I dislike him, I'll give him credit for being an extremely talented driver. He seems to have just as much talent for bringing out something in other people...as your wife is an example of. :L

Danica coming to nascar I still do not think is really going to happen...but I thought it was a pretty amusing comment with all the rumors of her coming and with Jr's performance. I also don't think Tony will hire Jr to drive for him, I think I'd almost believe a past idea of mine having a more likely chance to come true than Jr in a third car for Tony, and that being Danica in a third car. I wouldn't be surprised for him to field a third car in the future, I don't think it will be a current cup driver if he does, I think it'll be someone young either coming in from open wheel or a dirt racing background.

I would be surprised to see Jr be gone after just one season with Hendricks, but at the same time, if he doesn't do something to show major improvement before the end of this year, then who knows what his future will be. I felt like this weekend should have been his race to turn things around, there comes a time with whatever reasons or excuses for not finishing good don't matter anymore, only the final results where you finish and I believe that Jr should have sat down with his crew and told thim this weekend is it. It didn't happen. If Jr doesn't focus and do something with Hendricks, I don't know that he will with anyone. I believe that the best owner for being able to get a driver pointed in the right direction is Gibbs, but I just don't see him going there. I also think that if he's looking at what Tony has done this year and gets it in his head that he can be a driver owner like Tony's done, that Jr Motorsports will crash faster than Kyle Bush coming off of turn 4 to the checkered flag at Daytona.

Rowdy reminds me of Jaws back in the day, I think that's why DW likes him so much...
