I installed a Callaway Honker, it has a K&N filter. I think the Honker is the best, others may have a different opinion.

I did the Honker and a Ported Intake Manifold at the same time. It took about a half second off my 1/4 mile time.

you want the HONKER,LPE, BREATHLESS VORTEX or VARARAM.They are the only real CAI's out there. You will notice a difference at speed!Don't fall for the HYPE of the BIG FILTERS.You won't get any real, lasting gains from them.

I think I'm going to try the Airaid CAI at a cost of $235.00 -

Not thinking anymore - ordered today!

Finished installing my Airaid CAI - great fit and finish!

Great Choice. You can't go wrong with the AIRAID Intake.

No Cutting or Drilling required and the fitment is excellent.

We also offer 30day Unconditional money Back Guarantee and of course stand behind our products with our Lifetime "No-Hassle" Warranty.

Thanks,
David

Hello hotshotzny,

Well we are not here to knock any competitor’s products; we are here to educate the members on our products.

I have however heard from some customers, and have read on some forums about other "Manufacturers" Systems not being very easy to install, and some do require you to cut or drill.

any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
David

Breathless Performance

Callaway Honker

VaraRam

All require cutting - not sure if tuning is required

...or you can buy a pre cut shroud with those and install it and keep yours intact.;)

:w Vararam Air Intake
FAST intake manifold
Corsa Indy Pace Muffler System with out the X pipe, and I love the sound of it. There is no resonance inside at all. I do have a burble and I love it. All 3 were with out any remodeling Take the old one out and put the new one in.
These are the only 3 mod changes I have made except Bosch Iridium spark plugs, and new ignition wires. I never had any thing timed, but I couldn't believe the change in performance I got. Now I am in the process of upgrading the suspension to a Z. Sway bars front & back, shocks , 1/4" aluminum tunnel upgrade and Brakes. All because you can't keep it straight in the road on acceleration.:lou

:wHi David. How long have you guys been mfg this product? I never heard of Airaid until I saw it in this thread. How does the air intake compare with the competition's product? It looks like a very simple installation. I saw the Vararam installed at the Colorado Cruise Fest last year, and I bought when I bought my C5. I love comparing products, the best to you guys.:thumb Scott

Here's a pic of the new Airaid intake kit installed on my 08. Requires no cutting of the factory radiator baffle (shroud), no tuning required and is reasonably priced. I'm sure tuning would improve that 12 hp gain Airaid lists even more. The kit has a huge washable filter, no restriction there, gets rid of that factory accordion coupler and has two air dams that help prevent hot air from the engine compartment entering the filter area. Has the factory look. Was less than $250 delivered.

Instructions are excellent. The kit installs very easily. Really a quality product!

Maybe not quite the ram air effect of the Vararam but I bet not much power loss.

Ran logs before and after. .343 improvement in my 50-100 mph time with the Airaid. Inlet air temp 2* higher than ambient. If you would like to see my logs before and after email me at 98larry@comcast.net

Here's my install...
