What about this...

Take the air intakes from the brake cooler air dam (Mid America) and route with ducts to over the cut box intake. I was contemplating shop vac nozzles, the square kind, attached to the box.

Worth it? Would water pose potential disaster? Does cold air make much difference?

i was thinking about trying that idea too, or taking the fog lights out and putting ducts in like the c5. i wonder how much water gets into the license plate ram air kit.

Might work.

If you seal the brake ducts to the air cleaner housing, don't drive into standing water - if the water gets up above the ducts or one big SUV going the other way creates a big wave, you'll have hydro-lock in the cylinders.

The last car I had a 'cold/ram' air system was my Buick GN. It appeared to make a difference in 3rd and 4th gears only. Probably because I really couldn't notice any difference in 1st and 2nd as it didn't stay at high RPM in those gears very long or there wasn't enough 'ram' effect at the speeds in those gears.

What if you put a couple of 2.5 inch electric hi-cap bilge blowers on that set up? I guess you could boost it about 3 or 4 pounds. Cool to have a switch when you get the itch, like nitrous.

Always wondered why superchargers didn't use electric fans. It seems like the LT-1 can use more air into its throat without letting go and blowing.

To Add: The boost wouldn't be enough without a huge amp draw.
There are electric turbo assists for the first seconds. My Vette would look horrible with big solar panels.

Please, look at this thread for more ideas: Underhood cooling.... We already have a three-page thread going on the subject. Run a search before blindly posting a question; you will often find the subject will currently be in discussion. ;)

we were talking about cool air into the filter in a different way, not hot air out like most of the replies to the thread you mentioned...
