I was wondering what the "correct" finish should be for the rear spring for 1967. Gray, black, charcoal gray? I have seen/heard several possibilities, but no definitive answer. I am doing a 'frame on' restoration and want to paint the individual leafs.
Thanks

I believe the correct color is a light gray primer which GM used at the factory. The liners should be natural black. Vendors sell this primer, but it won't last long, being a primer. I used a "Dove Gray" enamel on my '67 spring and it has held up quite well and cleans up nicely. :beer

Patrick is right, you might also try dove grey powdercoat if you aren't going the NCRS route, it looks original at a glance and holds up alot longer.

Thanks so much for your help. I am not doing NCRS at this time. I 'protected' the springs with Master Series urathane (POR) and now I will finish them with the Dove Gray color.
