Complete Carbon Fiber door panels*C4 Corvettes*

prepare panel #2 for CF

okay, today passenger side door panel is being prepared.
Tomorrow hopefully Carbon Fiber will be applied.
The slow down in progress is due to ordering carpet sets which include door panel pcs.
I have no space to store anymore boxes in my room.
I hope I can have images of completed panels, complete interior in place and load images ASAP.
thanks for visiting CAC forums

First off I gotta say your work is inspiring! It makes me want to do something to my car!

Does the carbon Fiber pannel feel any lighter than the stock pannel?

Is it hard to work with carbon fiber (compared to fiberglass)?

Keep up the great work! Watching your work in progress is fun...I gotta say!:cool

more work on Cf panels

First of all thank you for your remarks DogFish, and everyone @ CAC and everyone.
okay so today we are doing panel #2. I must say, working the finer details can be a pain in the a_ _.

ensuring lines are straight, sometimes very hard to get a perfect straight lines on objects that are not straight.

panel 2 * REDO

DISAPPOINTMENT IN PANEL # 2.
MESSED UP THE WEAVE PATTERN IN 2 AREAS.
APPLIED TOO MUCH HARDENER, AND ALSO TOO MUCH SURFACE WAX.
I guess I got too comfortable after seeing 1st panel results that I begna to think I am Machiavelli.
THE DOOR ARM REST IS SO OUT OF SHAPE, DOES NOT SEAT PROPERLY.
TRY AGAIN............................

i am down.. and I also violated my diet, ate PIZZA!

You have an awesome photo album, man!

Dont' let the little disappointments get in the way. You do incredible work! :upthumbs

WHILE YOU ARE BUILDING THOSE DOOR PANELS, DON'T FORGET TO SAVE THE :w!

Thats OK, its all part of the learing process! Plus, if you want to get it perfect you might need to do stuff over again. As long as it isnt an expensive mistake, well, it is what you know not to do when you fix it.

Think of it this way, when you go fishing, you cannot expect to catch the big one on the first cast, you cannot expect to not break a few off, and when you hook up to the big one you cannot expect to real it in without a fight!:cool

Thank you.

Thanks guys! :)
I am gonna start w/ going to the gym.workout, go out, and resume theCorvette project hopefully within a week.
Hopefully when I get some bills out of way, I will have extra money for nore parts. I am waiting on these parts so I can get the Nitrous outof box and in car.
adding new precision computer bent fuel by Classic Tube, new fuel tank, gauges, dash completion w/ radio speakers and carpeting, interior.
