I am cosidering installing a composite rear spring on my 71, would like some input regarding brand, spring rate ( comfortable cruising is my goal ), installation ease and satisfaction. Thanks.

Several years ago I installed a composite rear spring on my 77 vette. It was the best thing I ever did to that car. Very happy with the softer ride and less weight factor. I do not remember what spring rate I installed, but the job was not to hard to complete.

I have a 71 Big-Block hot rod with a Vette Brakes and Products composite spring. It's 360 lbs/in. I tried a 330 for a while, but it wasn't stiff enough for the engine's torque output.

If you have a stock Big-Block and the car used for easy cruising, the 330 would be a good choice. If it's a Small-Block car, I'd go with the 300.

Thanks for the input. VBP recommends the 300lb spring for 63-67corvettes only. Softer is better to a point without creating a marshmellow. would like to hear more from those who have been there.
