Hello,

I am thinking about selling my highly modified 1985 Corvette and purchasing a callaway twin turbo Corvette.

I am looking at 1989 to 1991 t.t. coupe's without the AeroBody option.

What should I look for & avoid and how often are these cars up for sale?

I'de prefer a 6 speed car too.

One other thing is that i'de like to eventually swap out the TPI intake for either a TPIS MiniRam or a Accel SuperRam intake (would prefer the super ram intake).

Anyone ever done this? I am looking for more top end power and am not concerened with the minimal low end torque loss.

Thanks!!!

Do it! You'll have no problem finding the 6-speed because there were very few automatics produced. Keep an eye out here for cars that go up for sale or also check http://www.callawaycars.com/

Good to hear you are ooking onto a Callaway Corvette :)
Here is a 1990 that seems like it has an upgraded "Woderbar" to 403 hp :eek

"1990 Chevrolet Corvette Callaway Twin Turbo RPO B2K W/All Available Factory Options. Dual Roof Panels, Original Owner, Red W/ Gray Int. W/Callaway Wonderbar. 403 H.P., 575 Ft. Lbs. Torque. #26 of 58. 29000 Miles, Excellent Condition Both In & Out. $31000. 973-773-9547"

Nice color combo too :)

Let us know how this works out:m

- re: intake - Superram will not fit (between the intercoolers) and mini ram will take a bit of fabrication - Callaway Cars may make an upgraded intake at some point again as they had in the past w/ the rare 100+ package :cool

Let us know if you need any help checking out a car. The car that's listed above is within 2 hours of a couple people that I can think of.

thanks for the lead. Red is not a choice for color....just not for "me" ya know????

What should I worry about with these cars? Heat? Turbo life expectancy?

Are you sure the super ram wont fit? I do not think it is any wider than the runners on the stock TPI?????

there's not much to worry about with these cars as many of them are in very good low mileage condition. However, if you find something that you're interested in... post about it here. More than likely one of us knows some of the history of the car.

Superram will definitely not fit and even doing a miniram would be a challenge. The geometry is verry tight and the intercooler plumbing is probably not something that'd you'd want to mod. Intake runners and other bolt on stuff will fit though.

Tires, keeping a good supply of them around is important ;LOL

What color(s) do you have in mind?? (in & outside)

Here is a pic of the B2K engine...

Just for comparison, here is a Superram -

Little tight on the pass. side :confused

I am open to just about any color except red. Proabbly white, black, yellow, blue (not really because my '85 is blue)...etc...

THat passenger side does look cramped by the throttle body....humm......

Any more on this??

I know of a 1990 Polo Green for sale w/ 7000 miles - I had listed it here in the forum earlier in the week - They are out there :v
