Converted main lights to UK spec - not 100% happy

Hi.. (1990 convertible auto)

Just converted headlights to UK ones, got main lights with built in sidelights (running). Jobs done and they work fine.. but..

To turn on the sidlights, I have to turn the light switch to full then back to sidelight, in order to get the lights to popup. Is there a way to get them to popup when the sidelights are turned on normally ?

The side amber lights are disconnected completely (brown wire cut). Can I wire them to the front indicators so that they flash ?

Sounds like a dodgy headlight switch.
1st notch on headlight switch turns on park lights , 2nd notch gets headlights on and up

Yes but you may have to change the flasher unit to get the flash rate right with extra lights.Flasher cans are rated for a certain load

Got side flashers to work, just needed to earth the brown wire coming from the bulb holder.

The headlights work as normal, but the UK conversion lights have the side light bulbs inside them.. so first notch the side lights come on but the lights dont popup so you cant see them.. second notch main headlight comes on and the lights popup.. move back to first notch and they stay popped up with just the sidelights on.

What I want is for the lights to popup when the switch is moved to the first notch (or the second notch obviously).

Clearer now.
What you want is not going to happen with stock setup.
You are going to have to rewire and possibly may have to add some relays or a seperate switch to kill the headlight without pushing back one notch
