Convertible Door Restoration Q...

I am restoring/painting my 74 convertible. I need to know if the underside of this door is supposed to be finished in black or the exterior car color. Mine has been repainted once so I cant tell.

The paint jobs of these cars from the factory were pretty bad. I have seen them done both ways, and sometimes partially painted. I personally like to paint the underside during a repaint. No reason, just what I like!

The underside of the decklid was painted body color, including some of the hardware.

Note handles and brackets are body color; bow latches, cables, and other hardware are different colors since these pieces were installed after paint.
