Yes Sir

Ya Remo,
When I originally posted this thread I was expecting to see some people post buyers remorse. They "should have done this or that different" kinda thing. I am very happy to see most everyone that has responded is still confident they purchased the right package. No matter what package, color, or top people sport on their Vette they still feel their initial value. I believe that is why Vettes don't loose resale value as fast as other expensive vehicles and then bounce back very quickly.

Joe,

I agree - I think you've captured the essence of the thread. It appears that most of the contributors gave some thought to what they wanted before making the purchase. Either that or they just won't admit they made a mistake. Great thread.

You mean the darn top comes off of my 04 Coupe? Geez, I better get the book out and take a look at this development. lol Targa is the best of both worlds. I've had it since July [over 5.3K miles now] and plan on finally taking out the targa piece in the spring if we get a dry day in KY. It will probably blow away when I end up putting it back in.

I know it hurts you right coasters but it's another top down 80 deg day on the left coast.
:D:beer:w
Yea, but you still are in California.;LOL ;LOL

All in all I would rather have a Z06! But for the bucks a Z51 targa will do the job nicely, so It gets my vote! as long its Daytona orange too.

I can't vote - my Vette is an FRC :D. However, we bought our fixed-roof-coupe because:

3 - The wife doesn't like the top off or down on cars.
2 - I don't like Vert tops down at highway speeds (old age I guess).

And the number 1 reason:

The price was right! ;LOL

I just like the style of the fixed foor.

But those fixed "foors" are so hard to get in and out of.

Interesting to see the number of Vert fans increase as we get warmer and the prices drop.

always loved the FRC/Z06...

Rich,

Your Z06 looks outstanding. Nice treatment with black accents. Very nicely done.

Little did I know when I bought my Z51 equipped Coupe how important the sport suspension package would turn out to be. I live and work in Europe and have my Quicksilver 2002 with me. The Z51 package and a few bolt ons have given me the opportunity to show snobby Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and even a Ferrari or two that Americans can and do build a world class automobile! They definitely don't like the idea that an American car with an American driver can whip up on their butts not only on the autobahn/autostrada, but in the twistys! :L

Geez Wyodude,

Take it easy on those Porche, BMW and Ferrari guys. As a governemnt employee you're supposed to be keeping up good foriegn relationships. I didn't realize that the Z51 package gave our vettes such an advantage. After reading your comments I think I'll go looking for Ferraris. I bet they'll be really surprised when my Z51 C5 Vert blows their doors off.

I'll let you know how it works out,

Remo,

I'm not advocating street racing (autobahn/autostrada high speed touring, maybe) mind you, but there are certain temptations where primal instincts seem to take control. See my post at:

Wouldn't turn down any of them but for sheer performance have to vote Z06

What the.......

You know what doesn't make sense about this poll? More people perfer a convertible "without" the Z51 option. Go figure.

Many people who buy a Vette just want to cruise around with the top down; those more interested in going fast opt for the Z06 or Z51 Targa if they plan on doing any traveling. just my $.02 from observing the local Vette club and I'll bet most of those Verts are slushboxes :L

I love my targa because it is a coupe, a coupe with a glass top or a convertible at my choice and mood. I also went the targa to satisfy my wife's desire for significant luggage space.
Right on! Now, if GM would see fit to offer the top as T panels as an option, I'd jump all over it.
