coolant waning light question

my "low coolant" light comes on sometimes. the coolant level is perfect. is there a sensor that sends a signal to this warning light that might have gone bad? if there is a sensor where would it be located?

It's a single spade connector in the right side of the raditor. below the fill cap. it's just a electrical connection when the water drops its not in the water anymore. so it could be just a dirty connection. or broken wire.

Does the light come on right after your thermostat opens? If so you are down a little on your coolant level. I'm guessing you are checking the car when cool and the level is full to the cap. When the stat opens and the coolant flows it can drop below the sensor. Fill your recovery tank to the hot line when cool and see if it goes away. That fixed mine from doing the same thing.

As a side note it also means you are loosing coolant somewhere. I had a very small leak at the thermostat. Because the car was hot the coolant evaporated and didn't leave any visible coolant, but I finally found it.

Good Luck!!

it was a poor conection. i cleaned and fixed the problem. thanks for the advice.
