I think I know the answer to this one but I would like to confirm it. I have a 63 with a 340hp in it and I put a performer two four set-up on it however the intake didn't have the two fittings(one for the temp sending unit and one for the water pump bypass) so I plugged the bypass on top of the water pump and used the one opening for the sending unit. I was told that the bypass wasn't needed for cooling, but the engine hasn't run good since. I need to know if I can put some kind of tee on the intake so as to have both the sending unit and the bypass working?

Chevrolet made a thermostat housing with a threaded fitting on top. I dont remember what year. You could take a look at one of those and use the threaded hole for the temp sending unit.
