Hey Guys,

I hopefully have an easy one here. I'm looking to replace all the accessory belts, but am not sure which alternator belt I need. All the catalogs list two options, 70amps or w/o 70 amps. I looked on the back of the alternator but there are no casting numbers, this led me to believe it may be a replacment, but it says delco remy made in usa on it. Im not sure if either belt would fit as there is wide latitude for adustment in the bracket, but i'd rather get the right part. Any one go through this before. If it helps I have power everything. Thanks.

Take the old one off and have it replaced with one the same size at your local parts store. Your GM dealership might have one also. Just my .02 ;)

Thanks to everyone who checked this post out, and I'm happy to say I have answered my own question! I finally found out that the 70amp alternators were put in 81's with air conditioning, and the 63amp alternators were only put in cars without ac. Hope this helps someone else down the road.
