Corvette Action Center to Attend MidAmerica Designs FunFest 9/19 - 9/21

The dates are good!

Funfest is on Sat & Sun but Friday is a set up day for vendors etc. Mid America will be setting up for a week before. Plan to be there early on Sat as it will fill up quick. If you have never been there you are going to be amazed! 7500+ Vettes, free luches, free t-shirts, free pins, door prizes and discounts for owners. You also get tech sessions and the who's who of the Corvette world will be there. I went down to Mid America recently and they are talking about adding a swap meet. Make sure you tell Mike Yeager while your there that you like the idea.

Lets all make sure we make a good showing at the CAC tent!! I look forward to meeting you all! If anyone is interested in camping out let me know, I live 20min away.

Hi all,

Well, found a hotel in Vandalia. I'll see you all at the tent!

Hey Bluvet,
If your plans have you passing through Parker, Colorado on your way up the festivities, send me an email- I always like to welcome fellow Corvette owners to my neck of the woods.

doh!

i cannot come to the funfest this year... :cry being that i have only been working here for a week now - i should prolly wait a while until i announce that i am going on another trip... hehe

Becky read what i was about to post.. she just informed me that the next vacation i go on will not involve the corvette whatsoever.. (unless we take it to get there)

Thanks for the offer Patrick but it would be a pretty good detour. I'm near the Texas border so I will go through Texas then Oklahoma. Surely do appreciate it though!

We'll be there on Sat. First time for us. Have heard about it before but just never went. We live about 1.5 hrs away.

Don't forget to wear your CAC shirt.....I bet Rob has some left.

I'll be there Sat. I suggest you come as early as you can. There can be traffic slow downs.

I went last year, it is one cool weekend.

Looking forward to meeting some folks.....

This will be my first time attending the Funfest and I will bring my brand new 76 (the white one) and my dad will be driving his White C5 (We having matching color combos.. White Ext, and Torch Red/Firethorn Int.) ...He is really looking forward to finding some cool mods for the C5 and he really would like to see all the Tech Demos... Any Advice for someone who has never gone to Funfest before?

YA-HOOOOOO!!!!!

I've always wanted to go but couldn't "SWING IT" because of work.
Not this year...........

I'll be there!!!!!
I just made reservations at the Fairfield Inn, Decatur/ Forsyth, IL.
(1 hour north of Effingham)

I got on priceline and picked up the room for 40.00 a night.
I was suprised there were any rooms left.

Wow. That's awesome. I wasn't able to find any rooms for one of the Moderators.

Hotel Reservations

Rob, did you try Priceline?

I'm not sure, but over the years, I think I figured out how Priceline works, I've used it a number of times, without problems.

My theory is....

1. Priceline pre-purchases a block of rooms in "most" locations that are under the "corporate umbrella" of major chains such as Hyatt, Marriott etc.

2. The hotels cannot sell those rooms, only Priceline.
This I know for sure, calling directly to a hotel I was told, none were available, but through Priceline I got the room EXACTLY at the same place (cheaper too)

3. The website is completly automated. You type in a location, and pick a price you want to pay. I generally start at $30.00 and work upward untill a price is accepted.

4. The price you pay (again, my theory) is a pre-based price.
Once a customer meets or exceeds that MINIMUM price, which I think is about HALF the standard price for a room for that hotel. The software automatically books the room.
Example: Had I booked through the hotel, the room cost was $77.00, I got it for $40.00.

Good Luck......
and see you there.

If anyone is still looking for a room, you might want to try the motels/hotels in Terre Haute, IN. It's just a tad over an hour east of Effingham on I-70. I live just north of Terre Haute and will driving from there early Saturday morning. There are several motels located on at the I-70/U.S.41 interchange and lots of good food and places to enjoy the "spirits" of your choice;)

See Ya On Saturday!!!
