Corvette History

Does anyone know where I can research the history of my corvette? I know who owned, since has been in the family since the beginning, but I was wondering if I could find 'legitimate' owner information, such as a carfax report or something. When I enter the VIN number it usually tells me its invalid because they just are not enough numbers in it.

I was really hoping to find information like the exact date of purchase, where it was purchased from etc. I have read several other posts on various web sites how people 'researched' their car.

Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

assume it is the 1962 you are seeking info - you say you know the previous owner(s) - that is about the only place you will find info - need to hope they have old documentation, etc.

Sadly I thought that would be the answer. I have checked with the previous owners - My Godmother bought the car new in 62, and my Mother bought it from her in 1968. I was hoping that I could find more information to back that up, but it appears that prior to 1977 records are very limited.
