New to Sarasota, Florida in Manatee County Florida. Looking for good Corvette mechanic in the area, Bradenton, Sarasota or in Manatee County Florida - please help. Coolant leak somewhere near waterpump - can only detect wet spot when looking through passenger side into engine compartment, small trail of coolant on the garage floor now and then. Coolant alarm comes on in DIC, corrected by added coolant to coolnat reservior. Thanks. Donald1425@gmail.com

The coolant leak could be the water pump beginning to go. There is a weep hole on the underside, from the drivers side you may be able to put your finger on it ... should be about 1/4 inch forward of the lower rounded edge. If you have any moisture its time for a new waterpump. Else one of the hoses that run inamong the AC brackets may not have a tight clamp. Kinda a PITA to get to.

One thing if you replace the waterpump be sure to remove the heater hose fitting or purchase a new one. The Corvette fitting is rather long for clearance in and around the AC bracket.
