Corvette Summer Clone?

I actually brought this movie on Ebay

Thumper,

Speaking of Corvette Summer, I bought the movie on Ebay the other day.
I remember seeing it when I was a little tacker and have thought it would look good in my memorabillia in the garage.
The wife and I watched it the other day and her comments were the same as yours!
She said what a heap of sh*t!

There it was hard to say that about a Corvette, I think I need counselling now. :LOL

Cheers

I have to give the guy credit for being dedicated to his goals. While without paint it's hard to tell entirely but it appears he's done a heck of a duplication job.

I agree, you do have to give him some credit for following his dream. It took a great deal of time, effort and money to accomplish what he has done so far....even if I don't agree with his taste in projects, I do appreciate the effort and craftsmanship that he put forth to get to where he is today.

And I do commend his attempt to offset some of his costs by offering his handiwork to others who may share the same dream.

Thanks for the link Gator

They are great pics.

Do Mid America own the original car?

Ahh, the right hand conversion is what we Aussies call a chain conversion. The car is left basically stock and can easily be converted back to LH drive later on. This is good once the car reaches 30 years old and you can drive her LH drive again.
I thought they could have gone for a different steering box though. My 81 has a Toyota Cressida steering box and Toyota Landcruiser steering damper running on the right hand side. It also has a bar running through the dash, simular to the chain pics shown in the last post, to control brakes. My brakes are GM and the booster and master cylinder are still on the LH side. The steering pump is the GM item.

Cheers

Tony

Yep, it's in Illinois at the Mid America building.. I want to see this car up close one day, I loved it in the movie!

I don't really care for the way they converted it to RH drive.. it looks so chopped up underneath and it's chain driven.. not too stable for high speeds I would think.
