I signed up for this service which is based on the knowledge of Gordon Killebrew. It took a long time to get it running as the people involved in the project did not realize how much work it would require.
It costs to belong but now my membership is good until June 2011. I am sure I can recoup my cost in one or two do it myself projects. The site is still a little rough around the edges. I'm sure it will improve with time.

I could spend days surfing the site!:beer

Sorry I just can't see spending 100 bucks to join a Corvette site when there are such good free ones...not to mention a GRAND for a "lifetime" membership. What happens if the site bombs and shuts down in 6 months...or in 6 years for that matter?

Not a chance, even if I DID have money to blow!

And to think the "Original Corvette Action Center" at Bowling Green, a call in information help/tech line was FREE. I agree with Bill.

Here at the internet Corvette Action Center the information found within our site is priceless and it's FREE unless someone wants to become a supporting member, and that's NOT A REQUIREMENT to participate or seek information from anywhere within our walls.

It's also too bad that ALL the original Corvette Action Center Tech folks were invited to CruiseFest this year, but declined. THAT would have been amazing to meet the entire staff of the original Corvette Action Center.

There are members here that are extremely knowlegable on their prefered Corvette Generations, and we even have a few experts and all SHARE their knowelge and wisdom for FREE. That is what makes our "Hobby" unique unto itself, and we here at the Corvette Action Center pride ourselves in our quality of members and the quality of information provided.

C2C3C4 I'm not taking you to task here, I just think some folks in our "Hobby" need to find another way of CASHING IN on it rather than charging for information and technical advice without turning the wrench, just passing along the text and pictures :eyerole

That's my $.25 worth

HI there,

Knowing who runs it and how passionate they are, I feel its a business venture, with a good purpose, which I can completely understand.

They are using reputable people to support the knowedgebase and feel people would pay a certain amount for it.

Especially given the breadth of Gordons knowledge, I believe it would be worth it to someone who repairs Corvette constantly if they did NOT know the cars.

Plus, not everything that u see on the forums can be taken at face value.

The concept behind that site is everything is finite and can be repaired via pattern failures, which is true in most cases. But for those who modify the cars, are looking for operational characteristics, this may not be the best course of action.

Allthebest, c4c5
