Cost of new batteries???

Forget the actual cost of the battery, what does it cost to put in and do you have to go to a specialist??

Batteries are between 49.99 - 129.99 generally - takes about 15 minutes once you have been "victim" of the C4 battery drain
It is a "Do it yourself" deal for sure

I paid about $69 or so for my AC Delco. I put it in myself in about 30 minutes because taking the side fender off was a PITA.

Most of the battery place's near me put the battery in as part of the price. Should l insist on doing it myself?

Vetteguy your vette is a kissing cousin of my vette except mine is auto and a LT1. My wife cannot drive a manual and the more l think about it, the chances of her driving it are slim. Well l blew it again.

If it is included with the price, I say go for it. But I think they'll want to slap on some kind of "service charge" when they find out that they'll have to remove the side fender.

l think l will have it changed when l feel it's time by a corvette shop.

lt really s--ks that l do not know of a local place where l can have my vette serviced.

Years ago l would go on a saturday morning and hang with around 4-6 guys and a top mechanic while working on my vette and all it would cost me is the parts and breakfast and allot of laughs.

l remember once he had so much trouble on my 68 that he wouldn't charge me because he would never do it again. He had to fabricated a part out of metal replacing a plastic part.
Those were the days.

*I replaced mine with an Exide I October for $50.
*2 Days later the car was dead.
*Had it towed to Chevy dealer (AAA). I figured that something else was wrong as I just put in the battery
*They tell me that battery wont hold a charge so I had to go pick it up, return it for another one and bring it back to the dealer.
*A week latter I finally get the car back and all if fine now.

So this has cost me a week without my car, $50 for the battery, $165 for dealer labor time.

So my battery cost me over $200. Exide aint that good ad

Complained to Exide but they have never responded.

Moral of the story, don't save a couple of bucks and buy an Exide :nono

This was the first time I did not buy a Diehard and regret this decision. Only thing with going to Sears is a bunch of high school yahoos trying to figure out how to put it in.

Kingman, I would do it myself . You take it to one of these shops and they will screw it up. They will scratch it and then deny it. If it were my daily driver I would let them do it. But no one touches the vette. My wife is not into driving the vette so it doesn't matter. I think she is scared of it or scared of what I would do if something happened to it. Guy
