Counting splines on 700R4 shaft

I have acquired a 700R4 transmission after reading of the advantages of putting one in a C3. I count 27 splines on the outer 'collar' and 30 splines on the inner shaft. Which one is correct as most articles state to get the transmission with the 30 splines?
The numbers are 7TJM-Y 00890 389-970C
