Found delay timer for lights took cover off all melted inside.Cant find part on ecklers or davies websites. Can i just do away with timer and splice wires to get lights up working.Any ideas. Thanks Bill

you might want to try dr. rebuild or corvette central also. i wouldn't suggest splicing the relay out of the system. it will only cause you problems with the electrical system in the future.

ZIP had one module left yesterday, $89.00. I am going to search wrecking yards for high end GM cars 1978-1982, and see if I can find a delay timer with the same part number 463498.

If it’s for the 77 I don’t think there are replacements available that I know of. You can jumper around the delay circuit with a simple pair of flat spade stay-cons and #14 wire about 3” long. My delay didn’t work 26 years ago when I purchased the car and this is what I found a couple years ago. The dome and interior lights worked fine but no delay. Unplugged jumper and cleaned up the connections a little and inserted delay back into electrical socket and the delay has worked ever since.

Thanks Alwoody but mine almost looks like a signal stat flasher 78 they changed.bmotojoe that looks like a great idea.I was wondering if there was a way to bypass timer. My lights work from headlight switch but not when doors open.Thats all i want.I dont care about delay.I forgot all about this post.Any thanks alot guys as soon as im done with yardwork.Or what ever else my wife can think of.I try that fix. THanks again Bill

Yes, you can splice wires but if you would make a jumper wire instead and jump the two white wires your lights will work.

I had the same problem mine looked like a flasher also. Thanks to this post I removed the harness and bypassed it by plugging the two white wires together and now it works fine, just no delay :cool
