I'm restoring a 1982 non collector corvette. The only thing I can't figure out is how the interior courtesy light mounts on the driver's side under the dash. I suspect I might be missing a bracket. Can anyone help?

I suspect I might be missing a bracket
there is a bracket that the socket goes in on my 76, just a 90 degree with a hole for the socket and a screw on the other leg.

Is that on the driver's side? Does the bracket attach to the dashpad?

I was just into that part today. Mine is a 74 so it might be different. The bracket has two holes that a screw goes thru to and attached to the top side of the botton dash pad. The location is extreme left side just touching the hood release. On mine both the plastic mounting holes were broken off. I was able to glue a wall anchor where the broken plasitc mounts were. It is a tight place. I put a mirror on the cluch and put the courtesy light bulb(pulled out of the bracket) up high enough to give me some light. Maybe not the most elegant fix but it got the job done. The courtest light bracket was broken off when I got the car and its location looks like a good canidate to be hit by a foot. Good luck.
